The
world has too many drummers and not enough dreamers. In
our lives we are constantly bombarded from all directions by
drummers telling us how to think and where to find our identity. TV drums into our
heads that sex is everything, violence solves problems, and life is only
good if you are 25, single, and you live in an apartment with 5 other (sexy)
people.
Women get up in the morning and flinch to
the drumbeat in their head telling them they are "too thin" or "too plain".
Heaven help them if they are "too fat". Men wake up insecure in the knowledge that achievement is
everything, their car isn't good enough, they really NEED washboard abs, and
Bowflex will solve all their problems.
Drummers relentlessly pound away at our individuality, self-confidence, and God-given
uniqueness.
Dreamers find their own drumbeat in the midst of chaos. They
sacrifice the ease of marching in line with the world to create their own
groove. Dreamers live with passion.
Jesus Christ was the ultimate dreamer. He
confounded the drummers of his day (the Pharisees) by using his life to
glorify God instead of himself.
TMD is about making your life a testimony
to excellence, passion, and love. In turn, you will inspire others to
live beyond peer pressure and join the ever-growing ranks of dreamers that
God made us to be.
I hope the music of Too Many Drummers
helps you in your search for meaning and purpose in life. God loves you
and wants to have a personal relationship with you. Despite the small,
selfish creature that I am, God loves me too. Thanks to Him, we don't
have to listen to the drummers of the world any more. That is a good place to
start and a great place to end.
Rock on.
