Caterpillars,
cocoons, and butterflies teach me about life. Too many people are
caterpillars, munching their way through life in a never changing
existence. They think that they are supposed to be caterpillars
for their whole life. Another group goes through the caterpillar
stage into the cocoon stage and remains there forever. They slip
into an unconscious state and sleep away their remaining days. A
few people wake up, break out of the cocoon, and emerge as butterflies.
Their life is full of brilliant colors and they soar on the updrafts of
God's love after they spread their wings and fly. What's it going

GOD'S FLYING
PALETTES OF COLOR
I've always loved the artist's palette. All the colors that make it
to canvas are spaced around the palette's rim. Each palette is
unique, custom designed for just one painting.
Butterfly wings remind me of an artist's palette with the colors
spread all around. When I look at those wings, I can see God's
palette of beauty. Each species of butterfly was painted with a
palette custom designed for just them.
God must have loved his creation a lot to create so many different
palettes. But He didn't stop there. All of that beautiful color
would have been pointless if we couldn't see it. So God gave us
color vision to appreciate his handiwork.
Whenever you get down and discouraged, and wonder if anyone cares,
take a look at the butterflies. The work that God put into his
flying palettes of color is miniscule in comparison to the amount of
work and care that He put into creating you. There's no doubt about
it. God is out there, and He cares about you.
